"Prototype Part" is often heard in the mold industry. It means one or a set of products processed by machine. It has two types, one is ordinary plastic part, the other is 3D printing.
Ordinary plastic part refers to the processing of the plastic block directly on the machine. This kind of product is usually not large. If the part is large, the processed plastic parts need to be glued together with plastic glue. This kind of prototype part is made rough and feels not very good. There are only general shapes in various details. The customer usually does one before opening the mold, and then assembles the part that has been made to see if the design data is correct or not. Where the product interferes, and where the product wall thickness is too thin, the problem will be found on the prototype part, so we could reduce a lot of trouble when making the plastic mold.
Then about 3D printing part, it usually refers to the technique of constructing objects by layer-by-layer printing of plastic liquids. The part printed by 3d printing is very clear, and the details are perfect. It is an ideal printing technology. But it still has a lot of shortcomings. High cost has always been it. It's price is much higher than the normal prototype part. It used a plastic resin material that was very brittle and would break the product without being careful. It can only be installed to see if there is any problem with the assembly of the product, and can not replace the traditional plastic prototype part.
