The checking points for mold flash part
Apr 12, 2019
It's very common to see some flashes on the part during mold testing.
Today we are going to discuss some check points when we get flashed parts.
1. Mold fitting
2. Parting Line (PL) problem
(1) Check if the surface of the core is higher than the surface of the AB plate (about 0.5MM)
(2) Check the flatness of the surface to see if it is deformed because the mold plate is too thin.
(3) Is there any debris in the surface?
3. Check if the components such as the mold insert are loose. (The gap is too large)
4. Check if the mold plate is too thin to deformed because the injection pressure is too large. Check if it's have enough support pillar.
5. Check if one cavity of the gate size is too small, causing the injection pressure of another cavity to be too large and flash.
6. Check if the product layout is balanced
7. Check if the tonnage of the injection molding machine is too large (the reason for the pressure)
8. Check if the mold temperature is overheated, resulting in uneven deformation of the surface.
9. Check if the mold is too small: if the mold is too small, and the product is large and deep, it is easy to deform due to excessive pressure.
