Ten principles of mold design for P/L (1)
Nov 30, 2018
1. Consideration of clamping force
The lateral clamping force of the mold is relatively small, so for a large product with a large projection area, the direction of the large projection area should be placed in the direction of the mold opening and closing.
2. Meet the product release requirements
The parting surface is also for the product to be able to take out the mold smoothly. Therefore, the position of the parting surface should be selected in the part with the largest product section size. This is the most basic principle.
3. Shape of the parting surface
In general products, a parting surface perpendicular to the direction of the mold opening movement of the injection molding machine is often used, and in special cases, the parting surface of other shapes is used. The shape of the parting surface is based on the principle of easy processing and demolding. Like a product that is bent, it has to be bent to its curvature.
4. Ensure product appearance and quality
Do not select the parting surface on the smooth outer surface of the product. In general, the appearance of the surface is not allowed to have weld lines that affect the appearance of aesthetics; some products with concentricity requirements, all parts with the same degree of concentricity must be placed on the same side, so as to ensure their concentricity.
5. Determination of position
When determining the orientation of the product in the mold, the selection of the parting surface should try to prevent the product from forming side holes or side buckles, and avoid complicated mold structures.
