Today we are going to discuss common defects for
plastic injection products.
1. Short shot
The plastic part is insufficiently filled (or the injection pressure is not enough, the mold nozzle is too small).
2. Ejector Mark
The part is poorly released or the ejector pressure is too high. White marks and bumps appear on the surface of the product:
3. Flow marks:
The Part is not slippery, or artificially hit, scratched, and the corresponding flaws on the surface of the cavity.
4. Deformation.
Part deformation, generally due to insufficient product cooling time, or abnormal mold temperature.
5. Mixed color:
The color of the surface is different, and it has a marble-like color pattern. It is easy to appear when the mastermatch is used.
6. Weld line
A linear trace of the surface of the product is caused by the incomplete fusion of the two streams at the interface as they meet.
7. Flash
In the process of the plastic molding, the gap of the mold surface overflows the glue, and the remaining material on the edge of the product remains.
8. Splay mark
The surface of the product has a silvery streak. It is caused by the fact that the plastic material is not completely dried and contains water. The plastic material temperature will appear too high.
9. Shrinkage
Defects in surface subsidence caused by shrinkage of the product in the mold. The boss or thick material surface of the product that is generally expressed forms a concave print.
