Purpose of mold polishing
May 24, 2019
Polishing is an important process in the plastic mold making process. With the increasing application of plastic products, the appearance quality of plastic products is getting higher and higher, so the surface polishing quality of plastic mold cavities should be improved accordingly. Molds with specular and high-gloss surfaces have higher requirements on the surface roughness of the mold and therefore higher requirements for polishing.
Polishing not only increases the aesthetics of the workpiece, but also improves the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the surface of the material. It can also facilitate subsequent injection molding, such as making the plastic product easy to demould and reducing the production cycle.
1. Increasing the aesthetics of the part.
2. Improving the surface of the steel and enhance wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
3. Improving the precision of the mold clamping surface and prevent the occurrence of flash.
4. Reducing the resistance of resin flow and improve processing efficiency
5. Making plastic products easy to demould and reduce the production cycle.
