The widespread use of plastics and the linear consumption pattern of “production-use-discard” are bringing global pollution and are intensifying. In addition to destroying the ground ecosystem, plastic pollution has a profound impact on wildlife on land.
In order to reduce the pollution caused by disposable plastic products, the European Parliament recently passed a proposal to ban the use of disposable plastic products with overwhelming support votes. According to the proposal, by 2021 the EU will ban the use of disposable plastic products with alternatives, such as plastic straws, disposable earplugs, plates and so on. Before 2025, EU member states will achieve 90% of plastic bottles as recyclable products.
