Disposable nonbiodegradable plastic products are widely used in the food industry. These plastic products include food plastic bags, plastic tableware, food packaging boxes, food packaging films, plastic cups, trays, beverage straws, and the like. These packaging materials are not environmentally friendly products and pose a hazard to the ecological environment.

In order to protect the ecological environment, Hainan plans to completely ban the production, sale and use of  nonbiodegradable plastic products, such as throwaway bio-degradable plastic bags and plastic tableware in the province before the end of 2020. This ban will be promoted in other provinces and cities in a few years, if this is the case, after the one-time non-degradable plastic products are completely banned. New plastic packaging substitutes not only require green environmental protection, but also are suitable for high-quality food production. They also require convenient use, reasonable cost and wide range of sources.
